While curating for the Spring Factory Girl Maker's Box I kept dreaming of new beginnings emerging from their winter’s rest. I wanted your experience when you opened your box to be one of excitement and rejuvenation. In the Northern Hemisphere at the beginning of March we were in a transition phase. From sleepy, hibernating winter to feeling the warmth of the sun, peeks of grass through the snow, light rains to spark the regrowth.
Inside the Spring Box, recipients found unique items for making but also special gifts to grow, encourage reconnection, and try new things.
I wanted to take a little time to introduce you to these wonderful businesses and share a little more about what makes them special and unique.
Dusty Yarn Co
dustyyarncompany.etsy.com | @dustyyarnco
When you open your box, your eye may first be drawn to the beautiful yarn from Dusty Yarn Co (learn more about them here). The yarn destined for the included knitting pattern of a lovely wrap. The shape or design begins small and grows into its wider shape with an interesting cable motif. It is light weight and a perfect transitional piece as each day forward moves deeper into Spring and soon after into Summer.
Heidi & Lana

Heidi & Lana was started by Margaret and named after her and her sisters pet lambs from their childhood. Margaret’s beautiful stitch markers were the first I used when I began knitting 12 years ago. I have bulit up quite the collection and you may find yourself doing the same. The set included was hand crafted by Margaret specifically for the Factory Girl Spring Box.

Anellabees
anellabees.com | @anellabees
Anellabees Honey Candies originated as a mother-daughter passion project in 2017, when Danielle and her daughter, Anella, began testing candy recipes in their kitchen using an old confectionery press from the 1900s. The goal: create a honey-based candy that everyone would love, free of the unnecessary ingredients found in most confections.
And no garden is too small to support our sweet pollinator friends! The Anellabees seed mixes brings birds, bees, and butterflies into your own backyard. I hope you enjoy your beautiful blooms, while providing food and habitat to local pollinators all season long.
The Holton Homestead
holtonhomestead.com | @theholtonhomestead
The Holton Homestead was accidentally founded in 2015 when husband and wife team, Tyler & Sara, moved to our small acreage in Elkhart, Iowa. They had a dream of fruit trees, a garden, animals, a flock of chickens and bees. Sara is a 3rd generation bee keeper and Tyler travels to California learning more and more about bees each year. They have expanded their offering in honey products and also Queen Bee’s if you’re intersted!
